The Turn of the Year

It’s that strange in-between time, Christmas has passed, yet the tree still stands in the corner dropping its needles and drooping, ever so slightly. 2019 is almost within touching distance, but since tomorrow is never promised I’m lingering in today. Looking back at the year that is almost gone and thinking of those who touched my life, those who didn’t make it through and those who will always be here in some small way. Often-times I think too much. Today I’m thinking just enough to realise that people come and go, but the lessons they teach us, the love and friendship they bring are eternal. Someone once told me that when we make plans, God laughs. So, here’s to not-planning and letting tomorrow take care of itself. There’s still plenty of today-ing to do.
